If you hold a driver license from another country, the procedure of transferring your driver license is similar to that of applying for a new Colorado license. You may take your written exam and eye exam, purchase an instruction permit, take drive skills test and purchase a driver's license on the same day if over 18 years old. Types of non-commercial licenses are driver's licenses, driver's licenses with a Class M motorcycle, and a motorcycle-only license. Types of commercial licenses are: Class A: Any combination of vehicles with a Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR) of 26,001 lbs. Or more if the vehicle(s) being towed has a GVWR of more than 10,000 lbs.

  • The Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles does not require that you file a police report when dealing with a stolen drivers license. In any case, drivers are still recommended to report the theft of important driving credentials to a local police station to help prevent fraudulent activity.
  • May 31, 2019 The driver's license number is an added security measure the IRS and States have put in place for 2016 but for most states your return can be filed and will process without your driver's license number.
